MANILA, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine population density increased to 376 persons per square kilometer in 2024, up 3.4 percent from 363 persons in 2020, according to the latest Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data.
In 2015, population density stood at 337 persons per square kilometer, the PSA said on Wednesday.
The National Capital Region (NCR), or Metro Manila, remained the most densely populated region in the country, with a population density of 22,561 persons per square kilometer in 2024, the PSA said.
The NCR's density is more than 60 times the national average and reflects an increase of 833 persons per square kilometer, or 3.8 percent, from 21,728 persons per square kilometer in 2020, the data showed. Enditem
